Things are winding down out there, with the reality of shorter days and colder nights. Gone are the tomatoes and basil days of Summer. Replaced by the less glamorous cold hardy crops that really dig this Autumn weather.
Garlic went in this week. A few more rows than last year but still not enough to be intended for anything other than personal use. Slow but steady is my motto for all things it would seem.
As Autumn traditions go this one is perhaps the most indulgent of them all - the planting of flowering bulbs. A most necessary item in my 'waiting for Spring' toolbox. I make mention of it here . Because, Spring can never arrive fast enough in my book. And the inevitable last snow always forces the most unkind words from my mouth.
Happy weekending ahead!
