Slow progress is being made getting ready for the arrival of cold Winter days.
With reserved confidence I can say that our wood piles are sitting pretty. A rather large pile now lives within reach of the door - a fact that will allow me the luxury of checking that task off the list. Although, going into our third Winter heating with wood, I recognize that this job is never fully done - not even in the sunny days of Summer.
My garden beds lay in a state of disrepair - more than I am comfortable with given that snow is possible any day now. There are many things at work in not allowing me closure on this realm. Not the least of which is the seemingly constant deluge of water falling from the skies.
In our own ways, we will be working this week to wrap up the loose ends. A last hurrah of sorts. Marking the end of another season in this place we call home.
