January, with it's beautiful bright sun and accompanying brutal cold.
It is the month of the year that tests my resolve to live the way we do. And makes me work hard to settle in and enjoy it's days.
On the surface, of note, is the visible lengthening of days.
Beneath however is the surprising lack of heat accompanying the longer daylight hours.
"As the days grow longer, the cold grows stronger".
January brings deep-seeded wonderings and worries of old to the surface.
Primitive thoughts pertaining to survival and growth in the new year.
Thoughts that my head knows the answers to. But ones my DNA feels necessary to revisit and question regardless. Reminders that despite technological advances we are not as invincible as we think we are.
