To my way of thinking, once February comes around we are into the waning days of Winter. My Winter season is broken down into benchmarks - and arriving on the doorstep of February is definitely one of them.
The sun of February carries more of a golden glow with it - a quality absent in the white light that is January.
February sparks an urge to rearrange the corners of my home. Although with a couple of walls set to come down on the main floor later this Spring, I am doing my best to suppress it.
February marks the beginning of regular trips into our woods.
There is no better time to cut and process the wood that will keep our home fires burning next Winter. But with each visit to the little shack that sits amongst the trees in our woods - the promise of turning sap into syrup is what keeps my heart hopeful.
Happy Monday folks.
